Dixieland Jazz (This was a Jazz Age)
| The initiations of Dixieland jazz origined about 1910 when white musicians imitated the New Orleans Jazz. Different to the New Orleans style, this "white music" is more subsumable and concertante. At the beginning of the 1930s those two styles mixed up in Chicago and New York so that it‘s difficult today to keep them apart from each other. These 10 cds contain a compilation of renowned black and white bands of both forms of expression. |
